Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying near a crowded coastal shoreline suddenly began spiraling out of control, ultimately losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Recordings posted on the internet capture the chopper commencing to spiral above the beach then falling towards the edge of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palms and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters said five people were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
